About project .44
Born in the bowels of the infamous Chicago industrial scene, project .44 combines the skills of many industrial music luminaries, resulting in a machine based assault. project .44 integrates direct ties to the city’s original sound with fresh ideas to keep the torch burning.
Founder and core member Chris Harris, Louis Svitek (Ministry/RevCo), Charles Levi (Thrill Kill Kult/Pigface) along with longtime producing mate, Hate Dept.’s Seibold — and guests like En Esch and Martin Atkins — put on a master’s clinic in industrial music.
project .44 is celebrating the anniversary of their seminal 2005 album, The System Doesn’t Work with an entirely remastered 15th anniversary edition, available on vinyl for the first time ever.
The band’s founder Chris Harris says,
“The timing seemed perfect, the themes are relevant, this form of industrial has seen a bit of a revival, and the band has been pulled out of semi-retirement status with asks to play South by Southwest, Mechanismus Festival, Sanctuary Festival and others. With all of these celebrations of this music, it’s time to shine a light again. We have some special events and appearances throughout 2020 and 2021 to really celebrate this record.”
