ChicagoMade 2018 A&R Auditions Application

A limited number ofArtits will be chosen to showcase their work for Music Industry Executives

 

The City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) invites Chicagoland-based artists and bands, age 14 and up, to apply for the 2018 ChicagoMade A&R Auditions, taking place at the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E. Washington St.) on Saturday, October 27, 2018, 11:30am–4 p.m. Application deadline is Tuesday, September 18 at 5 p.m.

 

A limited number of artists will be chosen to showcase their work live in front of A&R (Artist & Repertoire) executives from major and independent record labels to be considered for the following possible opportunities:

 

• A talent consultation with Radio’s Disney Network’s Phil Guerini, with possible performance opportunity on a Radio Disney-hosted show and/or an on-air interview and “First Listen” of your song on Radio Disney.
• A meeting in Nashville, TN, with a Big Machine Label Group A&R staff member.
• Performance opportunities at the 39^th Annual Taste of Chicago in Grant Park in July, 2019.

 

In conjunction with Chicago’s Year of Creative Youth, designated by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, this year’s ChicagoMade A&R Auditions will reduce the minimum age requirement to age 14, allowing younger artists to participate as well as adults. NOTE: A parent or guardian must accompany artists/bands under the age of 18 to the October 27 audition.

• Phil Guerini, Vice President, Music Strategy Disney Channel World Wide & GM, Radio Disney Network
• Kosine, Music Producer and 1/2 of Da Internz Hit Making Production Duo and Apple Music Radio Personality
• Tina Davis, Vice President, A& R, Empire

 

Artists/Bands Requirements

Artist/Bands must submit a completed application AND a two-minute live performance YouTube video before Tuesday, September 18, at 5pm, in order to be considered for an audition slot. Both the Application and the Audition are FREE.

 

A committee of industry professionals will review all submissions based on (in no particular order) stage presence, voice, originality and creativity to select the artists/bands to fill the very limited number of audition slots.

 

Artists/Bands must meet the following criteria to apply:

• Be at least 14 years old and a parent or guardian must accompany artists/bands under the age of 18 to the October 27 audition.
• Reside in one of the following counties in Illinois:

• Cook County
• DeKalb County
• Grundy County
• Kane County
• Kendall County
• McHenry County
• Will County

• Be available to perform on Saturday, October 27, 2018, 11:30am – 4pm, at the Claudia Cassidy Theater in the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington St.

 

All music genres are welcome to apply and absolutely no walk-in auditions will be allowed on October 27. All participants will be selected in advance through this application process.
