February 2, 2017 – SPRING AWAKENING MUSIC FESTIVAL (SAMF) is proud to announce the 2017 dates and location for its sixth annual installment, taking place June 9 – 11. This summer, the largest all-electronic music festival in the Midwest will return to its beautiful new location at Addams/Medill Parkin Chicago, IL.

In 2016, Spring Awakening celebrated its fifth anniversary with the debut of two main stages at a brand-new, sprawling location in Chicago’s University Village/ Little Italy. The DJ Stage hosted headlining performances by Steve Aoki, Kaskade, and Above & Beyond, while Deadmau5, Zeds Dead, and RL Grime held it down on the Electronic Stage. A variety of electronic music genres were showcased at the two tented stages with branded takeovers by Dirtybird’s Birdhouse, All Gone Pete Tong, DJ Mag, Bass Kitchen, Body Language, and Trance Arena. A Silent Disco stage was placed in the middle of the festival, allowing attendees to dance nonstop in a magical repurposed bumper car arena.

Now, fans can relive the spectacle and thrill of Spring Awakening’s five year anniversary with the release of 2016’s Official Aftermovie. Featuring a complete and inclusive look at the festival’s shining moments and unforgettable performances, the video is sure to help attendees ride out the winter months in anticipation of SAMF 2017.
