Cross a legendary industrial crooner and skilled songman and what do you get? A retro kissed modern electro industrial stomper of a duo.
The reemerging scene in Chicago was treated to a pre Christmas dance fest before the mandatory family time. Starting off the night was the somewhat reclusive Caustic. Seemingly only appearing for festivals and blowouts, Caustic returned to Chicago and brought the beats with them, always an entertaining live show Matt and crew did not disappoint.
Next Cocksure took the stage. Combine an old school take with new school flair and you get the duo of Jason Novak and Chris Connelly’s Cocksure. An industrial treat with a nod to ReVco, Cocksure fired through a set that was big on beats, sweat and attitude. It’s like if Front 242, RevCo and Assemblage 23 had a baby and that baby was born with a keyboard and a Scottish accent. A great set and a great memory as we say good bye to 2016 and look forward to new releases, new tours and festivals in 2017.
