Les Claypool will hit the road in Summer 2026 with\u00a0Claypool Gold<\/strong>, a wildly ambitious, full-evening tour that brings together three of his most beloved and sonically adventurous bands –\u00a0Primus<\/strong>,\u00a0The Claypool Lennon Delirium<\/strong>, and\u00a0Les Claypool\u2019s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade<\/strong>\u00a0– for one mind-melting musical experience. Each night, all the bands will share the stage all at once for a fluid show featuring wildly different setlists and surprises.

The tour kicks off\u00a0Wednesday, May 20th in Reno, NV,<\/strong>\u00a0and will travel coast to coast with over\u00a025 shows<\/strong>\u00a0in cities including\u00a0Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Austin, Atlanta,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Los Angeles<\/strong>, before wrapping with a\u00a0July 4th<\/strong>celebration in\u00a0Napa, CA<\/strong>. Coinciding with today\u2019s tour announcement is the release of a brand-new song titled \u201cWAP (What A Predicament)<\/a>\u201d by\u00a0The Claypool Lennon Delirium<\/strong>, Claypool\u2019s mutant-psychedelic project with\u00a0Sean Ono Lennon<\/strong>. A warped meditation on morality, artificial intelligence safety, and the slippery slope of optimization without empathy – set against a sonic backdrop of fuzz-drenched groove and theatrical psych-rock – the track finds Claypool and Lennon in peak Delirium form, alternately biting, bewildered, and barbed as they reflect on a world gone algorithmic. \u201cLike a president caught in shenanigans with the beauty queen,\u201d Lennon intones on the opening line, \u201cI\u2019m guessing they may not be so innocent as they\u2019d have us believe.\u201d From there, the track spirals into existential musings on online chaos, virtual unreality, and the fragility of collective memory. \u201cI\u2019m not sure if history repeats,\u201d Lennon continues, \u201cbut I\u2019m certain that it rhymes.\u201d
 
The Claypool Lennon Delirium<\/strong> centers on the core creative partnership of Les Claypool (Primus, Fearless Flying Frog Brigade) and Sean Ono Lennon (The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger), who have long operated on the outer rim of genre and reason. Together, they remain a singular force: a mutant fusion of art-school satire, warped vision, and boundary-busting musical chemistry.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The new song arrives amid a remarkably prolific run for Claypool. In the past few years alone, he\u2019s led a full-scale reunion of his\u00a0Fearless Flying Frog Brigade<\/strong>, performing\u00a0Pink Floyd\u2019s\u00a0Animals<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in its entirety across two national tours; celebrated his solo legacy with the\u00a0Adverse Yaw: The Prawn Song Years<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>box set (featuring Purple Onion, Of Whales & Woe, Of Fungi & Foe and more); and launched the\u00a0Interstellar Drum Derby<\/strong>\u00a0– a global open-call and wildly entertaining YouTube series chronicling Primus\u2019 search for a new drummer. The search drew over 6,200 applicants and culminated in the addition of Shreveport\u2019s\u00a0John Hoffman<\/strong>, who has since joined Primus for a string of headline shows, tour dates with Tool and Puscifer, and the release of their explosive new single\u00a0\u201cLittle Lord Fentanyl<\/strong>\u201d featuring\u00a0Maynard James Keena<\/strong>n.

In addition to playing guitar with the Colonel\u2019s\u00a0Fearless Flying Frog Brigade<\/strong>, Lennon has also kept very busy. He\u2019s performed in an improvising trio with John Zorn and Laurie Anderson; a<\/strong>nd under his own name, released\u00a0Asterisms<\/em>, a wild instrumental album on Zorn\u2019s Tzadik Records, which draws on psych rock and jazz. Besides his own music, he produced\u00a0Exotica<\/em>, the most recent album by British neo-psychedelic band\u00a0Temples<\/strong>, he received a Grammy award in 2025 for his design of\u00a0John Lennon’s\u00a0Mind Games<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>boxed reissue, and he wrote and produced a short animated film inspired by\u00a0John & Yoko\u2019s “War Is Over<\/strong>,\u201d which won an Academy Award in 2024.
