CDSM\u2019s new album Convertible Hearse<\/em> is a gloriously sleazy ride through the underbelly of electro-punk decadence. Dripping with sex appeal and a delightfully trashy edge, the tracks swerve between grinding synths, snarling vocals, and dancefloor-drenched filth. There’s a sleazy confidence that echoes the spirit of My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult<\/em> \u2014 part retro noir, part industrial burlesque \u2014 but with a raw, modern swagger all their own pushing hints of Idles and The Immortals. Each song feels like a dive bar fever dream, equal parts seductive and dangerous. Trashy never sounded so good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atlanta, Georgia natives, CDSM (Celebrity Death Slot Machine)<\/strong> are ready to unleash hell. Described as, “a freakout post-punk group<\/em>” by Flood, and an “edgy genre-blending outfit” by <\/em>Psychedelic Baby Mag, the boundary pushing psych-rockers are set to release their debut full length LP, Convertible Hearse,<\/em><\/strong> on May 23rd, 2025<\/strong> via EXAG\u2019 Records<\/strong> & Mothland. <\/strong>The album\u2019s focus track,<\/strong> \u201c<\/em>Shockable Rhythm<\/strong>,\u201d<\/em> is an intense, electrifying precursor to the album.

\u201c<\/em>Shockable Rhythm<\/strong>\u201d<\/em> showcases CDSM’s signature blend of edgy synths and brooding vocals, creating a dark-wave narrative as the lyrics recount a near-fatal car accident. The victim fights to survive, with the \u201cshockable rhythm\u201d symbolizing life\u2019s pulse, revived by a powerful chorus defiantly singing, “I am still alive.” Despite the track\u2019s eerie circumstances and its alignment with the album\u2019s darker tone, \u201c<\/em>Shockable Rhythm\u201d<\/strong> feels like a bold call to action\u2014a challenge to persevere and push forward.

CDSM<\/strong> on the track<\/strong>, “Macabre new wave with a touch of industrial track, \u201cShockable Rhythm\u201d, closes CDSM\u2019s debut full-length album, Convertible Hearse. Kickstarted by a jolt of acapella vocoder rendering the words, \u201cI am still alive\u201d, the song depicts an accident involving a 16-wheeler, as well as memories from the near-death experience that followed. Minimal synthetic arrangements, supported by an electronically-enhanced disco pulse and interjected by melodic vibraphone chimes, team up to create an absolute cliffhanger for the album coda, prompting us to start the album over as we await the sequel.<\/em>“

CDSM Bio:<\/strong>

CSDM<\/strong> a.k.a. Celebrity Death Slot Machine<\/strong> is a \u201cfreakout post-punk group\u201d (FLOOD Magazine) based in Atlanta, GA. Their stylish sonic onslaught is anchored around dancey rhythms, atypical synthesizer work, timely saxophone growls, as well as goth rock-esque melodies that serve to recount bizarre humor-laden tales from a derelict parallel universe. Since forming in 2021, the band has toured North America and Europe, sharing the stage with likes of The KVB, BODEGA, Sheer Mag, Iceage, and Model\/Actriz, while also taking part in events such as SXSW, Treefort Festival, Art Rock Festival, Hopscotch Festival, and M for Montreal.
