Today, Chelsea Wolfe presents her new single, ‘Tunnel Lights,’ from the upcoming album, She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She<\/em>, out February 9th, 2024 on Loma Vista. Centred around love and light, ‘Tunnel Lights’ conjures up a late-night Twin Peaks feel until it cracks open into a swirl of analog and electric waves. As Wolfe explains, \u201c\u2018Tunnel Lights\u2019 is about actually living instead of just \u2018getting by.\u2019 It\u2019s about waking up to the fact that you\u2019ve been languishing in the dark and it\u2019s time to start taking steps towards the lights that\u2019ll guide you out of the tunnel-cave.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

On She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She<\/em>, there are references to shedding exoskeletons, to excommunication, and to permanent fissures. \u201cI\u2019m sanctified in my lover\u2019s eyes,\u201d<\/em> Wolfe leads with on ‘Tunnel Lights.’\u00a0\u201cNo way around it\/No way to fight\/A pull too strong\/Don\u2019t try to forfeit\/The way is through\/On tunnel lights.\u201d<\/em> Dense and minimal, raw and opulent, intimate and expansive, the production of the song and throughout the album breaks apart then rebuilds\u2014samples of the band are cut and pasted back together, heavy guitars dissolve into trip-hop breaks; the vocal delivery feels sculptural and is both hushed and soaring.<\/p>\n

Following ‘Whispers in the Echo Chamber,’ the ‘Tunnel Lights’ video presents Wolfe collaborating once again with director George Gallardo Kattah and was also filmed in Colombia.<\/p>\n

She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She<\/em> is a powerfully cathartic statement about cutting ties and an important reminder that healing is cyclical, not a simple linear process. The liminal, the in-between, and the unseen are recurring characters on She Reaches Out<\/em>. As Wolfe puts it, \u201clike the dark moon, that void space can feel unpredictable and looming, but it also holds so much potential, mystery, and excitement.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Produced by David Andrew Sitek of TV On The Radio and mixed by Shawn Everett (Slowdive, SZA, The War On Drugs), She Reaches Out <\/em>was recorded by Derek Coburn at Federal Prism Studios and mastered by Heba Kadry. Supporting Wolfe throughout is the core band of multi-instrumentalist Ben Chisholm, drummer Jess Gowrie, and guitarist Bryan Tulao. There\u2019s an intimate, ASMR-like quality to Wolfe\u2019s vocals on the album \u2013 nothing feels straightforward, left to chance, or as expected. As Wolfe says, \u201cThis album demanded to be lived.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Next year, Wolfe will embark on a lengthy 2024 North American tour, bringing her acclaimed live performance to a slew of cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and beyond. The tour will close with a special show at London’s Heaven on Sunday 21st April 2024. Divide and Dissolve will support the entire tour.
