No strangers to crushing, anthemic tunes focused on personal reflection, betterment, and the state of the world, the quartet raised the bar from the second they hit the stage to new album opener \u201cHey You,\u201d and to call the capacity crowd at Credit Union 1 Amphitheater rabid would be an understatement.\u00a0 Much is often said about how an audience can amplify an already great show\u2014to a point of almost being a clich\u00e9\u2014but in this case, it was legitimate, and the band knew it.\u00a0 Vocalist David Draiman remains one of the most intense and engaged frontmen in the rock world, and pummeling performances of \u201cStupify,\u201d \u201cTen Thousand Fists\u201d (literally!), and \u201cPrayer\u201d went by like a shot.\u00a0 Pausing to collect himself after an emotional performance of \u201cA Reason to Fight\u201d (itself preceded by a PSA on addiction and depression), Draiman engaged the audience for some introspection, discussing his own battles and how the promise of the being on tour brought him back from the brink of self-destruction earlier this year.<\/p>\n
