Today, the Foo Fighters announce a return to true form. Dave Grohl and his band of brothers are emerging from a sorrow most can’t comprehend, the lost of their best friend, brother and bandmate, Taylor Hawkins. They’re releasing a new album, But Here We Are,<\/em> June 2nd and starting to tour again next month in May. You can listen to their new single, “Rescued” now. (see below).<\/p>\n

Not much is known of the making of the new album or who will be playing drums for the Foo live, but rumors of Matt Cameron of Pearl Jam\/Soundgarden joining in has been squashed as he has spoken up and made it clear, he is not.<\/p>\n

The album is produced by the band and their returning producer of the last two albums, Matt Kurstin. The cover art is a cryptic blur of a simplistic wash against a white background. They are releasing it through pre orders and it will be available in several formats including cassette tapes, CD and variations on vinyl.<\/p>\n

In a press release from the band, \u201cthe sound of brothers finding refuge in the music that brought them together in the first place 28 years ago, a process that was as therapeutic as it was about a continuation of life.\u201d The album\u2019s 10 songs are said to \u201crun the emotional gamut from rage and sorrow to serenity and acceptance, and myriad points in between.\u201d<\/p>\n
