





{"id":47965,"date":"2022-08-22T08:00:44","date_gmt":"2022-08-22T13:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/?p=47965"},"modified":"2022-08-21T23:17:40","modified_gmt":"2022-08-22T04:17:40","slug":"glasgow-indie-new-wavers-franz-ferdinand-brought-their-hits-to-the-head-tour-to-chicago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/?p=47965","title":{"rendered":"Glasgow Indie New Wavers Franz Ferdinand Brought Their Hits To The Head Tour To Chicago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Christopher David<\/p>\n<p>Glasgow indie new wavers Franz Ferdinand finally brought their <em>Hits to the Head<\/em> tour to Chicago on Friday, delivering one of the year\u2019s most electrifying performances by any band of any genre over the course of ninety minutes.\u00a0 One of only a few bands in the early 2000s boom of post-new wave indie rock that arrived with a bang and actually had staying power, Franz Ferdinand remain an anomaly mainly for having rarely strayed from their punchy formula of melody-driven pop, and it\u2019s served them unbelievably well.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-47967\" src=\"https:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Franz-Ferdinand-The-Vic-Chicago-08-19-22-05-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Franz-Ferdinand-The-Vic-Chicago-08-19-22-05-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Franz-Ferdinand-The-Vic-Chicago-08-19-22-05-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Franz-Ferdinand-The-Vic-Chicago-08-19-22-05-768x512.jpg 768w, http:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Franz-Ferdinand-The-Vic-Chicago-08-19-22-05-120x80.jpg 120w, http:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Franz-Ferdinand-The-Vic-Chicago-08-19-22-05.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDarts of Pleasure\u201d led the set in terms of first-album bangers, and by the time the band reached the ubiquitous rallying cry of \u201cTake Me Out,\u201d the crowd was in an absolute frenzy;
