At the beginning of February 2021,\u00a0Napalm Records\u00a0and the inimitable God of Partying,\u00a0ANDREW W.K.,\u00a0announced the impending release of a massive new single,\u00a0\u201cBabalon\u201d, and today, that new single is officially released and\u00a0available worldwide\u00a0(listen\/order here<\/a>), in both physical and digital formats, with an accompanying music video.<\/div>\n

On the\u00a0\u201cBabalon\u201d\u00a0track,\u00a0ANDREW W.K.\u2019s path of partying takes a sharp left-hand turn,\u00a0making for\u00a0a triumphant and explosive new showcase for\u00a0his\u00a0prowess as a multi-instrumentalist. Swinging drums and a sinister guitar riff open\u00a0the song\u2019s\u00a0heavenly gates, veering into organ-driven, hermetical verses. This enormous sonic conquest descends like an angel, lowered by W.K.\u2019s rich and dynamic vocal delivery, that at last builds up to a spine-tingling climax \u2013 leaving Andrew\u2019s partiers clamoring for more.<\/div>\n

When asked to comment on the\u00a0\u201cBabalon\u201d\u00a0music video, the project\u2019s conceptual director, Michael R.C.,\u00a0offered the following:<\/div>\n

\u201cWith\u00a0\u2018Babalon\u2019, we wanted the audience to slink back down Andrew\u2019s tower and storm the gateway to the city of pyramids with him, or someone who looks like him. We had all been working really hard to lay thee gagging monster down, so it would dwell forever in the chasm of frivolous forming. All these images come from there, from where it\u2019s going. That\u2019s where we put Andrew.\u201d<\/div>\n
