It was the album that changed everything\u2014establishing the trajectory for the band Ministry <\/strong>as well as the sound that would be dubbed industrial music. On October 11, <\/strong>the band\u2019s pioneering album, \u201cThe Land Of Rape And Honey<\/strong>,\u201d turns 30 years old. Originally released in 1988<\/strong>, the album produced the hit single \u201cStigmata<\/strong>\u201d and went on to be certified Gold\u00a0<\/strong>by the Recording Industry Association of America in 1996. It remains one of the band\u2019s best selling albums.<\/div>\n

To celebrate the anniversary, some of the album\u2019s personnel are contributing to a new video series (brought to you by James Currie\u00a0 right here with In The Loop Magazine<\/strong>) reflecting on the studio sessions and lasting legacy. First in the limited series is Chris Connelly<\/strong> (see video link), a contributing member of the band starting with \u201cThe Land Of Rape And Honey\u201d<\/strong> and continuing with 1989\u2019s \u201cThe Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste\u201d<\/strong> and 1992\u2019s \u201cPsalm 69: The Way To Succeed And The Way To Suck Eggs.\u201d <\/strong>Look for more episodes coming soon.<\/div>\n

Earlier this year we here at In The Loop Magazine captured another historic moment as\u00a0Connelly <\/strong>and Jourgensen<\/strong> famously reunited for the first time in 15 years to perform hit \u201cSo What\u201d<\/strong> together at Chicago\u2019s Vic Theatre during the first leg of Ministry\u2019s<\/strong> AmeriKKKant<\/em> <\/strong>tour (the second leg begins November 21, 2018). Says Connelly<\/strong> of the reunion and possibilities for the future, \u201cIt was certainly the highlight of my year. It was great to be reunited with someone who has essentially been an older brother to me since before I even moved to the states in the \u201880s. It also seemed so familiar and as if no time had really passed, as well as the possibility of new beginnings.\u201d<\/div>\n
