The Dandy Warhols<\/b>\u00a0are an American\u00a0rock<\/a>\u00a0band, formed in\u00a0Portland<\/a>,\u00a0Oregon<\/a>, in 1994 by singer-guitarist\u00a0Courtney Taylor-Taylor<\/a>\u00a0and guitarist\u00a0Peter Holmstr\u00f6m<\/a>, who were joined by keyboardist\u00a0Zia McCabe<\/a>\u00a0and drummer Eric Hedford. Hedford left in 1998 and was replaced by Taylor-Taylor’s cousin\u00a0Brent DeBoer<\/a>. The band’s name is a play on the name of American\u00a0pop artist<\/a>\u00a0Andy Warhol<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The band gained recognition after they were signed to\u00a0Capitol Records<\/a>\u00a0and released their major label album debut,\u00a0…The Dandy Warhols Come Down<\/a><\/i>, in 1997. In 2001, the band rose to new levels of fame after their song “Bohemian Like You<\/a>” enjoyed extensive exposure thanks to its being featured in a\u00a0Vodafone<\/a>advertisement. The Dandy Warhols have released eight studio albums to date.<\/p>\n

The Dandy Warhols have already established themselves as musical icons with their songs \u201cBohemia\\n Like You,\u201d \u201cNot If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth,\u201d and \u201cWe Used To Be Friends.\u201d In August of 2008 they released Earth To The Dandy Warhols, their sixth full-length album, on their own label Beat The World Records. Released initially as part of a subscription service that also gave members access to the exclusives through the rest of the year, the album was followed by a successful world tour. On July 14, 2009, Beat The World released The Dandy Warhols ARE Sound, the previously unheard “Director’s Cut” of 2003’s Welcome To The Monkey House.<\/p>\n

On January 28, 2014, The Dandy Warhols announced plans to release their first live album, which was recorded at\u00a0The Wonder Ballroom<\/a>\u00a0during the band’s thirteenth anniversary tour of\u00a0Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia<\/a><\/i>.\u00a0The album, titled\u00a0Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia Live at the Wonder<\/i>, was released on March 25, 2014.<\/p>\n
