Chicago, IL \u2014 GMan Tavern is pleased to announce its latest monthly event series:\u00a0a live lit \/ musical discussion\u00a0hybrid called LINER NOTES<\/strong>. The series will kick off on\u00a0Thursday, May 3,\u00a0and will feature an eclectic lineup of speakers including DAVE HOFER<\/strong> [Reckless Records], LORENA CUPCAKE<\/strong> [Do312, Store Brand Soda], RIVKA YEKER<\/strong> [Hooligan Magazine, Audiotree], and local singer-songwriter\/burlesque performer UMA BLOO<\/strong>. Liner Notes is a monthly storytelling series where writers, musicians, and members of the arts community reflect on the albums that changed their lives\u2014for better\u00a0or\u00a0worse. Whether they\u2019re delving into a first-time\u00a0record store purchase, a life-saving breakup album, or a pivotal recent discovery, these oral histories will remind us how and why music is the ultimate unifier.<\/p>\n

Each speaker will spend 15 minutes delving into the canonical and personal significance of their chosen album. Discussion formats will range from PowerPoint presentations, track-by-track analyses, essay readings, and more. The night will be rounded out by a rotating specialty cocktail\u2014the special on\u00a0May 3 being a “Fiona Aperol Spritz.”<\/p>\n

The second installment of Liner Notes will take place on Thursday, June 7. Stay tuned for lineup announcements and more updates.<\/p>\n
