Iconic vocalist ANN WILSON<\/u><\/strong> will bring her critically acclaimed ANN WILSON OF HEART<\/u><\/strong> tour to select cities including ST. CHARLES<\/strong> on SUNDAY, APRIL 8<\/strong> at the ARCADA THEATRE<\/strong>. At her upcoming shows, ANN<\/strong>\u2019s fans can expect to hear an assortment of Heart hits, along with tracks from her solo career. Following her year-long successful solo tour, ANN<\/strong> WILSON<\/strong> has been spending the early part of 2018 recording her new solo release and debut album for BMG<\/strong>.\u00a0 Due out this summer (exact release date TBA) and with a working title of SONGS FOR THE LIVING: VOL. 1<\/u><\/strong>, ANN<\/strong> has teamed with original Heart <\/strong>producer Mike Flicker<\/strong> (Dreamboat Annie<\/u>, Magazine<\/u>, Little Queen<\/u>, Dog and Butterfly<\/u> and Bebe Le Strange<\/u>, among others) for an album that will pay homage to musicians lost in the past few years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a project very dear to me–a collection of songs by artists who have departed in the last several years including Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Tom Petty, Chris Cornell<\/strong> and Amy Winehouse<\/strong> to name a few,\u201d ANN <\/strong>explains. \u201cI feel these souls have made a real, lasting contribution to the art of the popular song and to honor them is my deepest pleasure.\u201d<\/p>\n

The album will feature some of the singer\u2019s favorite musicians, with the full track list to be announced in the coming weeks.\u00a0 With the recording still in progress in Los Angeles, the first three songs confirmed are Lesley Gore<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cYou Don’t Own Me,\u201d Amy Winehouse<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cBack to Black,\u201d<\/strong> and The Eagles\u2019 \u201cLife in the Fast Lane\u201d <\/strong>in honor of Glenn Frey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce again I am pushing my limits as a singer and it is thrilling work,\u201d ANN<\/strong> says.\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s my way of showing gratitude for these amazing expressions in words and music. This record was made in the old school way\u2026on an actual tape recorder, so the sound is vibrant, present and powerful. This sound will not just massage the listener\u2019s ego, it will stoke their heart and soul.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following her headlining tour dates this spring, WILSON<\/strong> will join Jeff Beck<\/strong> and Paul Rodgers<\/strong> for the \u201cStars Align Tour<\/strong>,\u201d as the album is released. Kicking off July 18<\/strong> in West Valley City, Utah<\/strong>, the tour stops in 19 cities across the U.S. and Canada including Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, Toronto and Nashville, before wrapping August 26<\/strong> in Tampa<\/strong>.\u00a0 \u201cI am thrilled to have been asked to perform on the \u2018Stars Align Tour\u2019 with Jeff Beck and Paul Rodgers,\u201d shares ANN<\/strong>. \u201cThey are both long time favorites of mine! Musicians on board for ANN\u2019s <\/strong>tour dates include <\/strong>Craig Bartock<\/strong> on guitar (Heart member for a dozen years, who also performed in the Ann Wilson Thing for two years) from San Francisco; Andy Stoller<\/strong> on bass (the Ann Wilson Thing member for two years) from Seattle; Denny Fongheiser<\/strong> on drums and percussion (Heart member in the 1990\u2019s for two years) from Los Angeles; and Dan Walker<\/strong> on keys.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
