To celebrate his hometown\u2019s tercentennial, its rich cultural heritage, and the bright future of its music, <strong>Trombone Shorty<\/strong> has handpicked an all-star lineup of Crescent City musicians to bring the The Big Easy to Ravinia with \u201cTrombone Shorty\u2019s Voodoo Threauxdown\u201d on Aug. 26.<\/p>\n<p>Headlined by <strong>Trombone Shorty &amp; Orleans Avenue<\/strong>, the touring street party also features\u00a0the <strong>Preservation Hall Jazz Band<\/strong> and <strong>New Breed Brass Band<\/strong>, plus special guest appearances by Big Easy legends <strong>Cyril Neville<\/strong>, <strong>Ivan Neville<\/strong>, <strong>Kermit Ruffins<\/strong>, <strong>Walter \u201cWolfman\u201d Washington<\/strong> and more.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew Orleans is the best place in the world,\u201d says Trombone Shorty. \u201cI want to bring people the experience of New Orleans\u2014I always encourage people to come to the city and see what made me, what influenced me, but not everyone can come visit. Plus, there\u2019s a lot of other musicians in the city who feel the same way, who play this music and have their own take on keeping tradition alive. With this show, my friends and I want to spotlight New Orleans and bring joy, fun, and partying to the nation, because that\u2019s what New Orleans creates. That\u2019s what our music is about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Donors to the not-for-profit Ravinia Festival will be able to request tickets beginning March 20. Tickets for Trombone Shorty\u2019s Ravinia stop will go on sale to the public on May 8.
