Toubin spends all year digging through cobwebbed basements accumulating spooky eccentric records for the occasion. The dee jay patiently stockpiles and sits on the hot wax until he can barely contain the pressure and finally releases the bats on his anxious public every October to dancefloors worldwide. The mixes are a small sampling of the hours of non-stop action you get in the club. New York Night Train’s soul proprietor has thus far pulled over 200 sides for eight years of mixes (all currently archived on Mixcloud) as well as a Burger Records Halloween cassette. This year’s model, in the words of Jonathan Toubin, “a fantastic voyage deep into nightmares, madness, witchcraft, voodoo, and the zombie lifestyle,” is yet another exquisite beast built on hits and misses, classics and obscurities, canonical musicians and horror show hosts! The three dimensions, the good, the bad, and the ugly, are all Frankensteined together to take you to another dimension.

The East Coast and Midwest can experience these sounds the week leading up to Halloween this year as Jonathan Toubin’s legendary multimedia New York Night Train Haunted Hop Halloween party barnstorms select markets with Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds and virtuosic 16mm loop projectionist Spencer Bewley!
