The group underwent several name changes, including Diminished (2003\u20132004), Your Heart Engraved (2004\u20132006), and Rosecrance (2006\u20132007), before finally settling on Born of Osiris in 2007,<sup id=\"cite_ref-musicmight_1-0\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-musicmight-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0basing the name on the Egyptian deity\u00a0<a title=\"Osiris\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Osiris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Osiris<\/a>, and the tale of his son\u00a0<a title=\"Horus\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Horus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Horus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the early years the band was part of the Northland Chicago\u00a0<a title=\"Metalcore\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Metalcore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">metalcore<\/a>\u00a0scene along with other (now successfully signed) bands such as\u00a0<a title=\"Veil of Maya\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Veil_of_Maya\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Veil of Maya<\/a>, Monsters,\u00a0<a title=\"Oceano (band)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oceano_(band)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oceano<\/a>, and\u00a0<a class=\"new\" title=\"For All I Am (page does not exist)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?title=For_All_I_Am&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">For All I Am<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The group is signed to\u00a0<a title=\"Sumerian Records\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sumerian_Records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sumerian Records<\/a>\u00a0and has released three full lengths and two EPs on the label. Their album,\u00a0<i><a title=\"A Higher Place\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A_Higher_Place\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Higher Place<\/a><\/i>, reached number 73 on the\u00a0<a title=\"Billboard 200\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Billboard_200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Billboard<\/i>\u00a0200<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[2]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0Their second full-length album,\u00a0<i><a title=\"The Discovery (album)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Discovery_(album)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Discovery<\/a><\/i>, released March 22, 2011, debuted at 87 on the\u00a0<a title=\"Billboard 200\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Billboard_200\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Billboard<\/i>\u00a0200<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-3\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[3]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Born of Osiris has played at various festivals including the\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Summer Slaughter Tour\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Summer_Slaughter_Tour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Summer Slaughter Tour<\/a><sup id=\"cite_ref-musicmight_1-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-musicmight-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0(2008 and 2009) and the<a title=\"Music as a Weapon\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Music_as_a_Weapon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Music as a Weapon<\/a>\u00a0Tour 4. In 2009, they played on a co-headline tour named The Night of the Living Shred Tour with\u00a0<a title=\"All Shall Perish\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/All_Shall_Perish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All Shall Perish<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"After the Burial\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/After_the_Burial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">After the Burial<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Caliban (band)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Caliban_(band)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Caliban<\/a>\u00a0and Suffokate;<sup id=\"cite_ref-4\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[4]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0Born of Osiris also supported\u00a0<a title=\"Hatebreed\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hatebreed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hatebreed<\/a>\u00a0on the Decimation of the Nation Tour 2, alongside\u00a0<a title=\"Cannibal Corpse\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cannibal_Corpse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cannibal Corpse<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Unearth\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Unearth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Unearth<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Hate Eternal\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hate_Eternal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hate Eternal<\/a>.<sup id=\"cite_ref-5\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[5]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0In December 2009, they asked Jason Richardson of All Shall Perish to join Born of Osiris. This began a two-year period of member stability which resulted in the writing and release of The Discovery.<\/p>\n<p>September 2011, members Cameron Losch, Joe Buras, and Lee McKinney recorded and mixed the selftitled first release by Virginia band\u00a0<a class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/mindsiofficial\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mind&#8217;s I<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On December 21, 2011, Born of Osiris fired guitarist Jason Richardson without prior notice. The official press release came three weeks later.<sup id=\"cite_ref-6\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[6]<\/a><\/sup><sup id=\"cite_ref-7\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[7]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0Richardson immediately joined Salt Lake City\u00a0<a title=\"Deathcore\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Deathcore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deathcore<\/a>\u00a0act\u00a0<a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Chelsea Grin (band)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chelsea_Grin_(band)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chelsea Grin<\/a>\u00a0following his departure from the band. In response to the official statement released by the band, he wrote a scathing status update on his personal Facebook page, stating that the other band members frequently abused alcohol and prescription drugs.<sup id=\"cite_ref-8\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[8]<\/a><\/sup>Richardson served as a touring member within Chelsea Grin prior to him being kicked from Born of Osiris.<\/p>\n<p>A video was posted showing guitarist Lee Mckinney rehearsing over a riff, which is believed to be part of a song which will feature on the next Born of Osiris release. He also had an eight string guitar built for him by the UK based company Invictus Guitars, suggesting another direction that the next release will take.<sup id=\"cite_ref-9\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[9]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Following this, McKinney started a side project called Mechanize (originally named Mecha but the name had to be changed for legal reasons), in which he produces original electronic music and remixes other artists.<sup id=\"cite_ref-10\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[10]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0David Darocha has also started his own jewelry line called D A V I.<sup id=\"cite_ref-11\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Born_of_osiris#cite_note-11\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">[11]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0Cameron Losch, Lee McKinney and former guitarist Jason Richardson are all instructors on the music teaching website Bandhappy, which is owned by Matt Halpern, the drummer of Born of Osiris&#8217;s labelmate\u00a0<a title=\"Periphery (band)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Periphery_(band)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Periphery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On June 25, 2013, the\u00a0<a title=\"Sumerian Records\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sumerian_Records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sumerian Records<\/a>\u00a0<a title=\"YouTube\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/YouTube\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a>\u00a0page uploaded a new Born of Osiris song entitled &#8220;M\u2206chine&#8221; as well as a new album titled\u00a0<i><a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Tomorrow We Die \u2206live\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tomorrow_We_Die_%E2%88%86live\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tomorrow We Die \u2206live<\/a><\/i>, which was released August 20, 2013.
