{"id":18871,"date":"2017-06-02T06:37:36","date_gmt":"2017-06-02T11:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/?p=18871"},"modified":"2017-06-02T08:26:40","modified_gmt":"2017-06-02T13:26:40","slug":"quad-city-band-featuring-former-tripmaster-monkey-members-chrash-play-show-bottom-lounge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/beintheloopchicago.com\/?p=18871","title":{"rendered":"Quad City Band Featuring Former Tripmaster Monkey Members, Chrash, To Play Show At Bottom Lounge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">From Davenport, Iowa, comes a band as fluid and strange as its name: Chrash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Chris Bernat (Tripmaster Monkey), along with Kim Murray on bass, keyboards, and backing vocals (Darling, The Winter Blanket) and Paul Bloomquist on drums (The Winter Blanket), Chrash as we know it has been together for over a decade \u2013 after fates conspired to bring these three talented musicians together.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Their quirky, self-described \u201cphantom rock\u201d (a genre they lay claim to creating) has had a fan base for many years, as they played alongside such talents as The Meat Puppets, Cracker, The Donkeys, Corey Chisel, Caroline Scott and the Good Night Sleeps, and The Daredevil Christopher Wright.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThings My Friends Say\u201d, out July 15th, will join their catalog of 3 full length LPs and 2 EPs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Asked to describe their sound, they say it is a cross between Gabriel-era Genesis and Roger Miller \u2013 a great playground for the head.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Accessible and catchy pop-rock, Chrash entices the listener to want more, ever more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The band Chrash is releasing a new video for the track &#8220;Grace Comes From Lightening&#8221;, \u00a0from their Cartouche Records album &#8220;Things My Friends Say&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Chrash will be playing at the Bottom Lounge, June 30th opening for The Suburbs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For more on Chrash, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pg\/chrashmusic\/about\/?ref=page_internal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Davenport, Iowa, comes a band as fluid and strange as its name: Chrash.
