April 25, 2017\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>\u2014\u00a0<\/span>North Coast Music Festival (NCMF) is thrilled to reveal the artist lineup for its eighth annual year, taking place on the sprawling grass of Chicago\u2019s Union Park from Friday, September 1 to Sunday, September 3, 2017!<\/strong>\u00a0Featuring incredible tree-dotted views of the city skyline, and 80 unbeatable performances from all corners of the creative pool, \u201cSummer\u2019s Last Stand\u201d is music lovers\u2019 chance to end the season on a high note.<\/p>\n

For fans of bombastic hip hop, high-flying electronic rhythms and crooning jam bands,\u00a0Coasties<\/em>\u00a0can look forward to an experience that provides something for everyone. Headlining the festival on Friday will be a back-to-back set from electronic music legends\u00a0DEADMAU5<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0ERIC PRYDZ<\/strong>, joining forces to bring their monumental house and techno creations to the main stage, and international hip hop figure\u00a0GUCCI MANE<\/strong>, coming on the heels of his 10th studio album release The Return of East Atlanta Santa. On Saturday, reggae prodigy\u00a0DAMIAN \u201cJR. GONG\u201d MARLEY<\/strong>, instrumental electronic rock ensembleSOUND TRIBE SECTOR 9 (STS9)<\/strong>, and champion of Chipotle and wild bass heaters\u00a0CARNAGE<\/strong>\u00a0will end the evening in extraordinary style and spectacle. Finally, eclectic alt-rock heroes\u00a0WEEN<\/strong>, iconic electronic composer\u00a0TIPPER<\/strong>\u00a0and a soon to be announced\u00a0SPECIAL SURPRISE HEADLINER<\/strong>\u00a0will close out the weekend on Sunday.\n<\/div>\n

\nIn addition to the headliners, North Coast continues to host a thrilling roster of artists from a variety of genres each day. Kicking off Day 1 will be soulful electronic creator\u00a0BONOBO\u00a0<\/strong>playing\u00a0LIVE<\/strong>\u00a0alongside a full band, up-and-coming jokester rapper\u00a0LIL DICKY<\/strong>, Boston-based funk family\u00a0LETTUCE<\/strong>, and groovy hip hop instrumentalists\u00a0BADBADNOTGOOD<\/strong>. A\u00a0second<\/strong>\u00a0surprise guest<\/strong>\u00a0will be announced at later date, along with New Orleans nu jazz collective\u00a0THE RUSS LIQUID TEST<\/strong>, left-of-center singer songwriterHARRISON BROME<\/strong>, Midwest-based rapper\u00a0WEBSTERX<\/strong>, multi-talented jazz and hip hop singerAKENYA<\/strong>, and Chicago’s resident laidback\u00a0DJ EDAMAME<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Day 2 will see live sets from half of the legendary hip hop duo Outkast,\u00a0BIG BOI<\/strong>, cover band responsible for the Grateful Dead’s greatest hits\u00a0JOE RUSSO’S ALMOST DEAD<\/strong>, and electro-soul composer\u00a0MANIC FOCUS<\/strong>\u00a0with his accompanying\u00a0band, coming off his newest album\u00a0Mind Rising<\/em>, along with a raucous rap performance from steadily rising hip hop extraordinaire\u00a0POST MALONE<\/strong>. Attendees can also look forward to the vocal-centered dance music flyers of\u00a0DON DIABLO<\/strong>\u00a0and acclaimed R&B storytellers\u00a0TANK AND THE BANGAS<\/strong>. Completing the Saturday roster will be\u00a0A TRIBE CALLED RED<\/strong>,\u00a0WHETHAN<\/strong>,SPAFFORD<\/strong>,\u00a0SUNSQUABI<\/strong>,\u00a0LONDON ON DA THE TRACK<\/strong>,\u00a0GOLDFISH<\/strong>,\u00a0SAINT WKND<\/strong>, and\u00a0CARLILE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Day 3 will be graced by performances from U.K. grime figurehead\u00a0SKEPTA<\/strong>, prominent dance music duoHIPPIE SABOTAGE<\/strong>, and\u00a0three\u00a0more\u00a0surprise guests<\/strong>. Other acts include\u00a0creator of the West Coast’s HARD series\u00a0DESTRUCTO<\/strong>, hip hop originators\u00a0THE COOL KIDS<\/strong>, and additional sets by actsELEPHANTE<\/strong>,\u00a0ELECTRIC GUEST<\/strong>,\u00a0LATE NIGHT RADIO<\/strong>,\u00a0VALLIS ALPS<\/strong>,\u00a0KASBO<\/strong>\u00a0and Chicago\u2019s ownRICH JONES<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
