Perhaps you\u2019ve heard of a little old band called\u00a0Gorillaz<\/a>. But how well do you really know them? Behind the supergroup\u2019s endless stream of chart-topping hits\u2014like \u201cClint Eastwood\u201d, \u201cD.A.R.E.\u201d and \u201cFeel Good Inc.\u201d\u2014lies a twisted backstory involving kidnap, supernatural encounters and adventures around the world.<\/p>\n

The story starts in 1998, when the group\u2019s mastermind and musical evil genius Murdoc Niccals smashed his infamous Vauxhall Astra into an unassuming employee at an organ shop, Stuart Pot\u2014now known as the band\u2019s frontman and keyboard player 2D. Murdoc was responsible for kidnapping and holding hostage both 2D and Gorillaz\u2019s drummer, a Brooklyn native named Russel who\u2019s possessed by the ghosts of hip-hop legends. The youngest member of the band, Noodle, literally arrived at the doorstep of the band\u2019s Kong recording studios, and over the past two decades she\u2019s served as the guitarist, badass feminist and the glue that holds it all together.<\/p>\n
