If you don’t know already, there is a historic, grand palace of a theatre sitting dormant for over 25 years. It was once one of the greatest theaters the world had seen. Sadly, it closed in the mid 1980’s and fell into serious decay. There have been numerous attempts to save it but the cost always seems unattainable. That hasn’t stopped the neighborhood, community and local aldermen from fighting the good fight. Tomorrow, you can experience a rare, once in a lifetime visit through the magnificent fortress through a simple donation.
The 46th Ward Alderman, James unattainable is offering a walkthrough, tomorrow only, with a donation. Here is what they posted about it:
SEE THE UPTOWN IN PERSON
People call and email from around the world, asking if they can tour the Uptown Theatre. Presently, opportunities come up once a year at most.
If the Uptown is on your bucket list and you would like to support the alderman who is working with the owners and the city to help make a restoration project happen, then this is your chance!
