Ever wonder how Ministry get’s their iconic Industrial sounds? John Bechdel has been with the band for many years and is a master of the digital soundscape manipulation, especially for live performances. He is one of a few musicians still doing live sampling the old school way. The way it’s meant to be. The way it sounds best and works for Ministry.
In The Loop Magazine had a chance to follow the band around on their Amerikkkant tour and captured this rare experience of John Bechdel doing what he does best, create incredible sound scapes that fill in the Ministry sound.
Bechdel said, “People have asked, what is it that you are doing up there on stage live? And, “How do you get those sounds?” We’ll here is an in depth look into just that. He talks about how the sounds are created, how they are reproduced live and what it takes to make that classic Ministry sound, sound they way it does.
